TechSupport provides the following support:
- Workstation & Network:
- PC/workstation support (hardware, software, and related issues)
- Printer support (and related issues)
- Terminal support (dumb terminals, Xterminals, WinTerms) and related issues
- Hardware repair
- Day-to-day network configuration and maintenance
- Day-to-day telephone matters
- Instructional:
- Classroom technical support (projectors, workstations)
- Check-out / check-in of equipment
- Individual student orientation and setup:
- Account maintenance
- Technical orientation
- One-on-one instruction, where needed
- Response to student requests
Hours-of-Service:
- E-Mail to techsupport@svots.edu (strongly preferred): 24 x 7 -- generally with response
during business hours on the same business day, but at the latest on the next business day, depending on urgency.
- Telephone to (914) 961-8313 x327: While we attempt to be responsive to telephone calls, e-mail is preferred. Please feel free to contact
us by telephone particularly when the network or electronic mail is unavailable.
- Office hours (by appointment only): Please see the Receptionist to schedule an appointment during regular business hours.
- Please do not ask us for help with technical matters outside of normal business hours.
The particular urgency of any problem is determined solely by TechSupport.
The normal method of requesting support is email to
techsupport@svots.edu. Advising us that there is a problem when passing us in the corridor
or outside does not consitute reporting the problem.
